Mearescourt

Mearescourt

Mearescourt is a charming estate with a beautifully maintained and restored Georgian house in an idyllic parkland setting. The well appointed house, approached through fine parkland via a lime tree lined avenue, was built in 1760 by the Mears family and at the time incorporated part of a 17th century tower. The entrance front is architecturally important and consists of 5 bays with a central Venetian window above the doorway with a pediment on two columns.

The lands have extensive frontage to two roads and total about 76 hectares of which 5 hectares comprise the grounds including 1 hectare ornamental lake. Of the remaining 71 hectares about 8 hectares are protective woodland with remaining 63 hectares all being good quality grassland. Also set among the beautiful romantic gardens is a gate lodge and cut stone courtyard containing two cottages and surrounded by its own working estate.

In excellent sporting country, Mearescourt is easily accessible from all parts of the country, some 10 miles from Mullingar and only 60 miles from Dublin.

Profile Properties is at present restoring the house and estate to its former glory.
